Visions in Green: New Blu-ray and DVD Release Captures the World of Into the Wyld

We are extremely excited to announce our first physical home-media release, bringing the films of Into the Wyld together for the first time on Blu-ray and DVD.

In a world where streaming increasingly dominates how we engage with moving image, we felt it was vital to capture the films of Into the Wyld in a single physical edition. Something tangible that can be returned to, revisited, and experienced again in the years to come. Rather than disappearing into the endless scroll of digital platforms, these works are gathered together in one place as a lasting record of the project.

Created during a six-month artistic exploration in 2024, Into the Wyld ourselves (Material Matters) and invited artists respond to the enduring medieval legend of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Through experimental film, performance, and landscape-based practice, the artists re-imagined the myth as a living story embedded in contemporary place.

Visions in Green: The Films of Into the Wyld presents a cinematic passage through that exhibition, tracing Sir Gawain’s journey through the mysterious and untamed world of the wyld. Drawing on the landscapes of Wirral and the wider British Isles, the films move between ritual gesture, folklore, and environmental reflection, offering a contemporary encounter with one of the great mythic narratives of medieval literature.

The release features films by Material Matters, Silvia Battista, Patric Rogers, Angelo Madonna, Anna Jane Houghton, Abbie Bradshaw, Craig Sinclair, Piotr Marchewk, and Amodali.

Alongside the film programme, the disc includes special features that expand the context of the project. These include “Yes – But to What?”, a performative lecture by Silvia Battista presented at the Spirits of Place Symposium, and The Weavers, a live audio recording captured during the only public performance of this remarkable piece, preserving a singular and special moment from the Into the Wyld programme.

We plan to expand our physical media catalogue in the coming months, with further releases already in development.
