Material Matters Announces Autumn Residency at Bridewell Gallery, Liverpool

Taking over the historic Bridewell gallery space this Autumn, we will present a dynamic programme of four consecutive solo exhibitions. The series will feature Silvia Battista, John Elcock, Angelo Maddonna, and Patric Rogers.

Structured as a sequence of back-to-back exhibitions, the residency is designed to foreground our individual artistic voices while maintaining a cohesive curatorial framework. Each artist will occupy the space in turn across the two-month programme.

Silvia Battista will open the series, followed by John Elcock, Angelo Maddona, and concluding with Patric Rogers.

The residency also functions as a precursor to Material Matters’ forthcoming large-scale independent biennial project, SIRENS, scheduled for 2027. The Bridewell programme marks an important step toward the development of this future initiative.

Material Matters’ takeover of Bridewell Gallery signals a significant moment for the collective, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to presenting contemporary conceptual practice through focused, artist-led programming.

Further details, including exhibition dates and events, will be announced in the coming months.
